Would I be a bad American if I don't vote for president this election? So far, I'm still undecided on who I think is the best candidate to run our country. I'm tired of the slamming political ads because they confuse me. One ad makes me want to vote for a certain person and then when the next ad comes on I flip-flop. I don't want to vote for one just because he's black and I don't want to vote for one just because he picked a woman to be his VP. I don't want to vote for one just because he has military history. It's all so very confusing to me.

I don't think it makes you a bad American. However, I think if you don't vote than you give up the right to complain about whomever DOES become President. I also don't think you should base your vote on political ads. I think you should research where each person stands on the issues and vote for whomever you agree with more on those issues you feel strongly about. I also think people need to get past race and sex and look at who will be best to run our country - who has the experience to do so and who is just full of empty promises.
I agree with you on all points. And I'm not one to complain about who is holding that office because I know I'd never be able to do that job. I do try to look past race and gender and do my research, but I'm still so confused by it all. I want to vote, but I want it to be a very educated vote and I don't feel like I finding the guidelines for that to happen.
