Jakey is reading so well now and he really enjoys all books. He's really good at sounding out longer words, and he loves telling me all the different rules. His favorite one is where the "e" at the end of a word makes the vowel say it's name, example: make. Tonight after baths, he was reading my shirt (that said Old Navy) and he said "Mom where is the "e" to make the "a" say it's name? It just doesn't make sense to me." I told him that they "y" is taking the place of the "e" in this word. He then informs me, quite seriously I might add, "Well I guess the "e" was running late and the "y" had to fill in for him."
I just love the way his little mind works!

That's a great line for learning! It reminds me of the girls' phonics videos. They always have cute little jokes like that.
Wyatt is learning so much with reading too! I love it! Is isn't amazing the different "tricks" they teach them to help them remember?:)
