It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

Our family was able to decorate for the holidays together this year. The weather wasn't as warm as I like it, but it's NW Ohio and around Thanksgiving is usually much colder, so I'm not complaining. We got the inside and the outside done in one day. I have to do it in one day because I hate having things cluttered...boxes everywhere, piles of things to put up and piles of things to put away, it drives me nuts. I decided this year that the kids could decorate the big tree in the basement by themselves, with all their ornaments. Who knew they would have enjoyed that so much?! They got along, they laughed, they had stories about remembering who gave them what ornament, it was just as much fun for me too.
Here are some pictures of our house all ready for Christmas.

My new skinny tree! It's decorated with white lights, blue ornaments, and red bead garland.

My shelf that my brother made for me. I LOVE decorating this shelf for Christmas.

Here is the kids handy work. I must say that did a really good job with it!

This is a ceramic Christmas tree that was my Great Aunt (is that right Mom?). It's not the prettiest thing, but it's got sentimental value.

Jojo decorated the dining room table for me.

These are scented pine cones surrounding my Christmas village that I painted many moons ago.

Here is Jakey next to our Santa Claus. This is another thing that is a bit taller than Hubba.

Hope everyone is getting in the holiday spirit!! Only 24 more days!!!

I noticed the Americana decor that I gave you moons ago. I totally forgot about that! How fun!

Love the skinny tree! ..and the kids did such a great job.

p.s. Great job on the new layout. ;) I need to change mine, but it doesn't quite feel like winter to me yet.

The ceramic Christmas tree was Aunt Louise's....yes, your great aunt. The tree was made by Nana. I have 2 exactly like it. She made lots of ceramics right after my Dad passed away, something to keep her busy. The neighbor down the street had her own ceramic set-up (firing ovens, paints, etc.) and was a good friend to Nana. I believe her name was Edna and she had a daughter the same age as my sister.
