I may have created a monster...
If you don't know, Jason and I bowl on a ma & pa league with my youngest brother and my Mom. It's a load of fun and the kids love being able to see family and run around like crazy animals with all the other kids that get dragged along. It's a special time for my Mom to be able to get in some family time in this crazy, busy life we all lead.
Jason has always used a house ball and he's never done very well. I end up beating him usually and my average is a 133. He was a trooper and kept on bowling, but you could tell that it wasn't his favorite thing to do. I contemplated getting him a ball and all the accessories for his birthday last March, but whenever I brought up him getting his own ball, he never sounded excited. And who wants to spend that much money on something if they really aren't into it?! As the season went on, and I brought it up with my brother, he talked me into it. So that was some of Jason's Christmas gifts this year. His own bowl, shoes, and a bag. Nothing fancy, because I really wasn't sure if it was going to be a hit or a complete miss.
Let's just say that we did MUCH bowling over our Christmas holiday break! Our league was on hiatus, so it was all fun bowling (kids and other family members included). He is sooooooo much better! Now I wish he'd go back to using a house ball because I can't beat him!
