Cinnamon Dough Ornaments...

The kids and I have really gotten into crafts this holiday season. They both love to design things and add their own touches on our crafts. This is one that we decided to do for the teachers, coach, and bus driver, hope you enjoy!

You will need:
Store bought applesauce (homemade will be too runny)
Cinnamon
White glue

Mix 1 cup applesauce, 1 cup cinnamon, and 1 tablespoon white glue. You want a consistency that can be rolled with a rolling pin, but not quite as sticky or it will stick to your surface.

Sprinkle your surface with cinnamon and roll out the dough.

Use cookie cutters to create your shapes, then poke a straw near the top to add ribbon, raffia, twine, etc.
Photobucket

Let them dry for at least 24 hours, they will shrink a bit as they dry.

We actually found cute Christmas-y ribbon at the Dollar Store, and this was our finished product. They will keep their scent for a few years, but you can refresh them with cinnamon fragrance oil if need me.

The house smells amazing as they dry and it's really an easy, fun project that our recipients will love for years to come.
