Book review...

I've actually had a little bit of free time lately and I've been filling it by reading whatever I can get my hands on. This past month I was able to finish 3 books, all very different, but good reads none the less.

Mommywood Pictures, Images and Photos
The first one I read was Mommywood by Tori Spelling. Yes, I grew up watching 90210 but this wasn't the reason I picked the book. I actually really like the way Tori Spelling writes. She's fun, peppy, and very straight forward. This book goes through her life as a Mom of 1, her pregnancy with #2, moving into a suburban neighborhood, her dreams of what that neighborhood would be like for her children, and the tumultuous relationship with her Mom is touched on a bit as well. It was a fast read, not educational, but fun to read.

The next book I conquered was Hero Mama by Karen Zacharias. I've always enjoyed learning about the Vietnam War. I remember watching the Vietnam movies and a TV show with my Dad. I enjoyed the stories of the people involved in the war, not the actual war itself. This book was written by a woman who lost her Dad in the war and the struggles that she and her family went through once he passed away. It was a really heart-wrenching book, but a very good read.

Next was For Laci by Sharon Rocha, she was Laci Peterson's Mom. I followed this story so closely and was beyond angry when it came out that her husband murdered her and their baby son. I have read another book about this case, but this one was MUCH better. Sharon wrote straight from the heart and you could feel her sadness, anger, pain, and every other emotion she experienced through the pages.

If any of you has read these books, what did you think about them?

Thanks for the reviews! I need to read more....but it's so hard balancing everything, especially now that I'm addicting to sewing. ;)
