This things are driving me crazy...

I don't know if any of you have kids that are entering this crazy new fad or what, but it's starting to drive me a bit batty. The new crazy fad is Bendy Bandz (or Loony Bands, or Bandit 0's, or Zany Bandz, or Monster Bandz, etc.).

They are jelly like bracelets that are shaped into things (animals, transportation, foods, girly things, sports) and the kids collect them and trade them. I know I went through fads like jelly bracelets, Cabbage Patch Kids, neon colored shirts, etc, so I knew my time was coming. But this is crazy. Any kids that come over want to see which ones my kids have and if they want to trade. It's almost like they forget how to say Hello.
My kids only had a few that they were given, I hadn't caved and bought any yet because I was hoping it would pass. Well yesterday I realized it wasn't going anywhere and I had to make a run for the store. I've heard that some Dollar Stores sell them, I heard Wal-mart has them for pretty cheap, but I wasn't heading in that direction so we stopped in at a local craft store. For a pack of 12 of these bands, I had to pay $2.50! I'm being a mean Mom and giving the kids 2 a day IF they do their chores and behave. They are not allowed to wear them to school and at this point they agree, but it will be interesting to see what happens once school really starts.

If I see any of these bracelets in my travels I will pick some up.

I think $2.50 is cheap for these things, actually! I was surprised when my preschooler knew what they were!
