I have been taking my kids to different benefit dinners for a few years now. It's such a great feeling to be able to help out in any way possible. This benefit is for a young mother who gave birth to her twins and then passed away from complications of H1N1 (click here for the whole story). I'm hoping that I am instilling some great values in my children by taking them to these dinners. I want them to see that not everyone is as healthy and happy as they are and that it doesn't take much to help out others.
If you are in the Toledo area and want to help out the Kimbler family, here are the details:
When: Saturday January 9, 2010
Time: 4-9 pm
Where: St. Clement Parish Hall 3030 Tremainsville Road
Price: Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
It will be a spaghetti dinner and will include raffles and door prizes as well. All of the proceeds will help with Mandy's children and medical costs. If you cannot make it to the dinner but want to help out, donations are being accepted at any Fifth Third Bank branch.

Man, that story is AWFUL! That's a great idea to take kids. I feel totally dumb that I felt like I should know the people to attend benefit dinners! But now that I think of it... that's not the case at all. So glad you posted this!
