I haven't done one of these in a long time but I figured that ya'll might like to know what this member of the Cole Family has been up to.
Jason reported to Ticonderoga, NY the Monday after Thanksgiving. A buddy of his from here is working there also, so they drove together. These lineman love it when this happen because they have someone to drive these long trips with, someone to split the travel expenses with, and someone to room with. Makes being away from home a bit easier. They are working 6 days a week, so he's definitely a busy bee. This work was created by stimulus money. These monies need to be spent on contractors (which is what Jason does) so that is why they are working 6 days a week. Supposedly the stimulus money is working it's way this way and rumors of work in Cleveland are circulating.
The Ticonderoga area is surrounded by National Forest, Jason said he's never seen anything so pretty. Lots of trees, streams, white rapids, and mountains. The weather hasn't been as cold as it is in NW Ohio, but they've gotten more snow than us. The other day they got 10". Ticonderoga is a small town, so the roads are cleared very quickly. Which gives me one less thing to worry about! lol
He received his care package that we sent him and it really seemed to brighten his mood. We sent him some envelopes and stamps, some granola bars and crackers, gel soles for his work boots to keep his feet comfy, and some pictures that the kids drew. The kids could draw pictures all day long for people, especially their Daddy.
We miss him lots but we are glad that he's working again. We are cutting down a ring on our chain every night, so he'll be home soon with us. Can't wait to enjoy some family time together!
